Since January this year lol- or the start of this blog. I have to admit I’m not much of a robot person- when it comes to robot designs my natural preference is actually for the bestial animalism of NGE’s Evas. And even then I find it difficult to achieve the sort of mechanical detailing that robot designs usually incorporate. So for the longest time I never really got into the TF/robot lovers fandom simply because I felt like it’d be too difficult to draw robots.

HI! I just wanted to say that i just stumbled upon your blog, and I fell immediately in love with your art! The dragon former designs are so unique, and the pokeformer ones are so adorable, not to mention the awesomeness of your art style and robots! I do have a question tho – how do you come up with your dragonformer designs? All of them are so different and I was wondering if you were inspired by like the dragons in other media’s or if you just made it up on the spot? Anyway, I love your art!!

It’s been a while since the last time I made a tutorial, I’m making some today 🙂
I’m going to add more examples in Patreon.
so when I was drawing shockwave for this post at some point this song started playing and I absolutely lost it bc of the lyrics
I made a little tut on robot arms, for I found a rather good way to create them and see many problems occuring with elbow / shoulder joints. Perhaps it helps the one or other artist 🙂
I remembered I can make gifs so I made a whole lotta process gifs of stuff I had WIPs saved of xD
ok this is more or less how i go about drawing humanformers
sorry this is kinda messy and cd isn’t the best example for when it comes down to it (i personally would’ve used skyfire or hound if i had to go about explaining my process) but yeah i hope this is kinda helpful???? maybe????????
And here’s a process video of this image!
Tutorial – Visors, Biolights and general Lighting Effects
I have been asked about this multiple times and finally had the time to make a tutorial for it! I really hope this helps, if anyone has any further questions, please feel free to ask!
Please keep it in mind: This is how I personally like to work and it’s in no way supposed to be a “THIS IS HOW YOU HAVE TO DO IT” thing. There’s other ways to do this, other mindsets to go about this depending on your art style etc. You do your artwork the way you want, it’s your picture and you get to decide what it’s gonna look like! This is just how it works for me.
So yeah, this is how I like to do lighting and glow effects 😀 Go and try it out if you like! I hope this is somewhat comprehensible!
