AU where Megatron ends up on a talk show and is confronted by his two Exes

decepticonsensual:

– See, I can’t help but see this as TFP Megs – it fits the tone of G1 better, of course, but G1 Orion wasn’t really an ex, just a vivid illustration of the rule that you should never meet your heroes.  So, TFP Megatron goes on human television to announce his intention to conquer the world, believing this will cause at least some human nations to break ranks and ally with him.

– He lets Soundwave pick the programme and make the arrangements.  What could go wrong?  Except, maybe, a communications officer who is both loyal and so very very fed up of his boss’s romantic drama causing complications.  Long story short, Megatron was not expecting his first appearance on human media as a terrifying conquerer to be accompanied by the caption:  “Still In Love With TWO Exes – And Now He Has To Choose!”

– Starscream has gone all out for this.  He looks amazing – head-to-toe professional polish and claw-sharpening, plus he let the show’s human staff have a go with this “makeup” business they were so keen on, so he’s got smoky accents to the deep red of his optics.  The human audience may only be seeing Transformers for the first time, but already the show’s Twitter feed is blowing up with comments about what a fool Megatron must have been to let this one go.  (These comments start to dry up somewhere in the middle of Starscream’s rant about Optimus, and Shockwave, and Airachnid, and yes okay I killed you that one time yeesh so sensitive.)

– Orion, who was told this was some kind of informal Autobot-Decepticon mediation session, is as confused as Megatron.  More, possibly, by the caption that appears on the screen when he walks on stage:  “Cute college boyfriend who got BUFF!”

– The entire Nemesis has stopped operations for the viewing party, especially once Shockwave and Ratchet get dragged out in turn, Ratchet confesses to some extremely embarrassing and conflicted feelings, Optimus cries, and Starscream whacks Shockwave with a chair leg (which makes the production staff cry, given how much time and effort they put into making those giant chairs on short notice).
