Self-indulgent headcanon of the day is that sparkbonded mechs can eventually learn to “ride along” each other’s sensory feed, even over long distances. It’s most likely to occur when one of them is in recharge (lack of other input), and the other one awake, so most don’t realise that’s what’s happening b/c at first the differences in sensory input parsing leads to an incoherent, dreamlike experience.

Over time, sparkbonding causes various subsystems to synch up, which will make the sensory experiences easier to parse, and may even lead to “phantom limb”-like sensations whle awake, especially between bonded pairs of different frame types and classes. The sensation source is rarely aware of the connection – for some people it can lead to feeling like they’re being watched, but even that is usually hard to distinguish from the general mutual “awareness” typical of a sparkbond.

Sensation transfer while awake is rarer, but it’s known to occur with sudden spikes in sensory or system activity, and the frequency at which they happen has a rough correlation with the percentage of system synch-up the bonded pair is experiencing. Data compression artefacting and junk data synch while in recharge (”dream sharing”) is considered a separate phenomenon from sensory transfer, and is a lot more common even among newly-bonded pairs.

Existing transformers games:

-you punch and kill some things

Games fans want:

-gay robot dating sim

-collect rodimus stars through increasingly stupid and bizarre tasks

-incompetent robot doctor sim

-rhythm game ala kinnect star wars dance game but with giant robots

-undercover cybertronian is forced to work office job via holoform while also going on missons. Bonus if the player character is markedly bad at pretending to be human. Triple bonus if other office workers are also aliens of various species but the player must spy on them while pretending not to notice they’re aliens

-literally anything with lost light shenanigans

-two player game where you each play as components of a headmaster and have to coordinate your controller movements and maintain drift compatibility while fighting

-minicon guerilla warfare

-a game where you play as soundwave and your only goal is to adopt every smaller robot you come across

-a game in which you play as whirl and hes whirl and its gr8

-a game entirely dedicated to jet judo

-transformers dress up/doll maker

-optimus prime is the player character but except instead of fighting your only goal is to avoid ratchet as he tries to bring you in for a physical. Bonus if its a two player and the other person plays ratchet

-prowl flipping tables: the game

I need ALL of these, expecially the last

All of this could fit into one game and it would be the the best thing ever

I think why I love transformers so much is that it’s the only robot story I know where the robots are legitimate People? like every other robot story is “oh these robots are piloted by people” or “oh these robots were made by people and they’re learning what it means to be alive and exploring the anxiety around ais/the advance of technology and how you define personhood” or as accessories to the human characters like in star wars or Star Trek or mass effect or like in wall-e the robots are cute but they’re very much just Cute Machines like “oh it’s a coffee maker but it makes cute noises!” or even just people’s minds in robot bodies etc etc but transformers is so different! cause it’s like… yeah they’re robots but they’re first and foremost People… like they have a soul and the robot thing is partly just flavour cause they’re very much people with emotions and personalities but also the incredible worldbuilding you can do in a race of robots like what kind of society would you have if your race lived for millions of years? if you could rebuild your body whenever you wanted? if there was no concept of children? if your brain was a computer and you could just download whatever information you needed and do complex calculations instantly? it’s so INTERESTING the idea of an entire society of completely sentient + sapient robots with no human influence who are nonetheless people…. I just think it’s so neat

and on TOP OF THAT… they can TURN INTO CARS AND STUFF… I love it I love. Transformers it’s so good
