(( From what I’ve read in the wikia, The AllSpark Almanac says that it was Blackarachnia who introduced the concept of a triple-changer. It also said something related to the Great War but, since Blackarachnia is from long time after it, I had to use my imagination to kind of make everything work)).
((This is the result)).
Note: I don’t know the meaning of the word ‘short’, so~I don’t really know what a drabble is. Sorry.
The orders had been clear, destroy the entire fortress.
Forget whoever is inside.
During the Great War, many sacrifices were done. Not just Autobots perished in combat but also Decepticons who, despite their faction, held some respect for every beating spark. Blitzwing, on the other way, had a rather particular opinion about the subject.
He didn’t care.
Few knew why he had joined the decepticons and, according to him, no one would understand it. A reasoning like that was what made him the perfect soldier for the task of blowing up the now assaulted Autobot fortress.
They were in a remote part of the galaxy, which gave them the advantage of not expect Autobot reinforcements; not with the ground bridge damaged as it was now anyways. Megatron had planned everything carefully; not willing to lose the precious energon that was stashing inside the building. However, even all the tactical knowledge is futileif you can’t predict what will happen next.
The Decepticons were still taking the energon to the ship when an unwated Autobot patrol noticed what was happening. The pit broke lose in a matter of cycles, as the energon cubes started to explode because of the missed shots. The explosions affected Autobots and Decepticons alike, but Megatron was determined to not let the energon fall into Autobots servos and, therefore, his contingency plan had to be executed.
“I inform you, my Liege, that there are Autobots and Decepticons alike inside the fortres,” argued Blitzwing after he received the order.
Megatron, who wasn’t looking at Blitzwing but to the combat through the glass of the bridge, didn’t speak immediately. While he had the intention of destroying the Autobots, he wasn’t willing to lose more troops.
“Warn as many as you can,” he ordered.
Blitzwing nodded and abandoned the ship in order to enter to the fortress.
He didn’t have time to lose. The explosives had been planted beforehand (only to not waste time before running away, they were supposed to explode after thy had taken the energon), all he needed to do was to set up a small time bomb and the rest would be a beautiful yet deadly explosive chain; one he was hoping to survive, along with his commrades.
It was a rather amusing thought, now that he was thinking about it. He thought he didn’t care about anyone’s life.
But now it wasn’t the time to question his morality, the distance between the entrance and where the explosives were laying was a great one and, as the way was now blocked by Autobot troops, the only way to get in there was by shooting
He shouldn’t have done it.
There are no heroes among decepticons, only ‘bots with a selfish interest. Blitzwing knew that and he didn’t care. He should have blown up everything and everyone when he had the chance.
But no, he had to show some spark.
He had reached the base of the fortress, stone walls that could kill whoever they wanted to bury with them; the time was already in position and counting backwards, everything was according to the plan. All decepticons started to retreat but, as one dodged an energy shot to continue his way to safety, it ended up landing on the explosives.
They recovered Blitzwing’s frame, barely functioning, from the remains of the fortress. Aside of him, only nine other ‘bots were found alive, three of them Autobots that were offlined mercilessly. Two other Decepticons didn’t survive long; two managed to recover and the three remaining were too injured to continue battling.
Blitzwing was assigned to only cientific duty and, as time passed, even that became a challenge. It was around that time when a rather curious being aboarded the ship.
She was gloomy and, most of the time, silent. Blitzwing had only seen her a few times during defriebs. It was during one of those meetings in where she suggested the posibility of a recovery for him.
“But it comes with… a certain price,” she added after her offer.
Blitzwing didn’t care for the price, he just wanted to function properly again.
The operation and later recover didn’t take long; however, he would have reconsidered his words if he had known better what the exact procedure was going to be… and how it was going to end.
Most of his memories were forgotten, the incident that nearly killed him between them; while he didn’t mind much about it, there were some things that he had wanted to keep forever. He didn’t want to forget the one time he felt his spark skipping a pulse as he ran inside that fortress to help out others. He didn’t mean to forget his start as a decepticon trooper, along with some rather sweet moments he had lived before then.
And there was something else…
“I guess I forgot!” bursted out Random, suddenly finding amusing his memory loss.
“Don’t force your processor, Blitzwing,” adviced Blackarachnia as she started to walk away.
“It will only hurt you.”
